Executive Board
The executive board of GÖRLITZ AG directs the business activities of the parent company and the eight subsidiaries in Germany and Europe. The board is composed of experienced persons who undertake responsibility for the market, products and personnel.

- Norbert Wagner
Chairman of Supervisory Board
(*1953) graduated in telecommunications engineering. In the course of his studies, he became interested in the transfer of information and its application in the operation and monitoring of power grids. Following his graduation, Mr Wagner worked several years in the pipeline automation sector in projects all over the world, where he was able to gain experience in installation and commission, engineering, project management and sales. Afterwards, he held various executive posts in international corporations. Since December 2006, Norbert Wagner is managing director of IDS and has significantly shaped the new outlook of IDS. His objective is to establish IDS Group, with GÖRLITZ AG as a member, as a full-line provider for all IT and control systems for network operation and control – including SCADA systems, automation and telecontrol systems, network management, GIS, automatic meter reading systems with EDM as well as Smart Metering and -Grid solutions.

- Ralf Hoffmann
Chief Executive Officer
(*1963) is over 20 years active in the fields of metering, remote reading and energy data management at GÖRLITZ. After training as a banker and studying mathematics and business administration, he joined GÖRLITZ as project manager for telemetry services. He is a member of various associations and is active in standardisation committees such as DLMS UA, and draws upon his vast experience to answer queries from ZVEI and the BNetzA. As member of the executive committee of the European manufactureres' organisation ESMIG he is responsible for coordinating 20 leading providers in the energy sector. He currently chairs the working group Communication Technology which was formed to implement uniform standards for smart metering in accordance with the mandate EU/441. Mr. Hoffmann was appointed Chief Executive Officer of GÖRLITZ AG on 01.06.2011 and will guide the company in the challenging times ahead to the transition to more decentralised energy and renewable energy generation.

- Norbert Bartsch
Chief Technical Officer
(*1961) discovered his affinity to electronics, microprocessor technology and programming at an early age. After concluding his studies in Electrical/Communications Engineering at the University of Siegen he joined GÖRLITZ in 1986 and in pioneer style, developed devices for remote data transmission. He was soon responsible for the development department. It still fascinates him to transform the demands on metrology, communications and DP technology into marketable products, and even more so today in the era of smart metering. Mr. Bartsch was appointed to the board in 2002 and his responsibilities include R&D, Production and IT.

- Simon Löffler
Chief Financial Officer
(*1976) completed his studies in business economics, languages and cultural environment at the University of Passau. He commenced his career in managerial positions in the fields of tourism, international insurance solutions and foundations until he became an independent management consultant. In 2007 Mr. Löffler joined GÖRLITZ AG where he was engaged in business development. He was appointed to the executive board of the associated company bfu AG in 2009 and in the same year was elected by the general assembly to the supervisory board of GÖRLITZ AG. He was appointed to the executive board as CFO in 2011.
