Electricity meters from the company Echelon are the perfect solution for residential and light commercial demand. Over 30 million meters with Echelon technology have been installed throughout Europe and provide users with versatile functionality for all-in-one metering processes. In addition to remote reading via an integrated Powerline modem the meter family offers multiple tariffs and multi-channel load profile recordings. Disconnection mechanism and subject to the model, an open interface for customer displays and applications for the home automation sector make Echelon products the extensive platform for smart metering.
Echelon meters are superbly adapted for a multi-utility communication infrastructure. An integrated MBus interface (subject to model) can be deployed for wired or wireless connectivity with gas, water and heat meters.
The polyphase meter has received approval from the PTB as well as other other authoritative bodies. The version with MID approval may also be implemented as an A.C. meter.
It is encased in compact housing and offers the same powerful performance for use in a pure 2-wire or A.C. environment.
